injectors

need help iv'e had an ongoing fault with my management light coming on just after start up ,the car then runs very lumpy and sounds like s**t after driving for around 3 miles the management light goes out and the car runs fine, have put a reader on and it comes up with a miss fire in cyld 1 code, iv'e taken the first 2 injectors out and swaped them over and still it comes up with misfire in cyld 1 code the injectors are all index 5 this is for my z4 35i sdrive 2009 twin turbo any sugestions

It depends what cyl 1 refers to.

It might be the first one closest to the front of the car, or it could be the first one in the firing order, which could be any of them.

Best bet is to replace all of the coils and injectors, then see if that corrects the problem.

Did you re-code the injector flow rates when you swapped them?
Also did you replace the O-Ring on the injector? From what I remember they are only good for usage once.

Also try swapping the coil and then spark plug. See if it is one of those two causing the issue.
 
I had this right after changing my water pump. Turns out the coil pack closest to the front of the engine had gone. Straight swap and all was right with the world again.
 
I had a similar issue and my local Indy changed the bank of 3 injectors and now runs fine. Recommended changing full bank of 3 rather than just one or two, but said changing all six was unnecessary unless the same issue arises in bank 2. Cost £180 per injector and index 12 are the latest and were actually the ones replaced. It's a well know issue with these engines that BMW don't advertise.
