Indicator Problems

Can anyone suggest what I can do here:

Problem:
* Right indicator flashes rapidly
* Error light showing on dash.

Checks I've done:
* All 6 indicator bulbs flash
* Left indicator works normally
* Hazard lights work normally

Do I need an auto electrician to come and fix this or is there a diy option?

There are two indicator bulbs in each of the front units, maybe one is failed or has a bad connection hence the dash warning light on.

Update today though.....

On my drive into work, the problem has switched to the left side!

Right indicators flasshing normally and left indicators going like the clappers.

Does this sound like a deeper issue than potential dodgy connections?

Have you checked codes?
I had a similar issue and it turned out to be a dodgy connection on a brake bulb causing odd earth issues.

Do you have any LED bulbs fitted?

No, all standard lights on a 2004.

I have an old code reader but it wouldn't connect unfortunately.

May need to invest in a new, better one.
