[Z4monster]

There is a new video and review of the new Z4 available online at http://www.imotormag.co.uk/ The video is very jumpy on the PC's i've tried but they should get sorted soon I hope.

Bad news from them as they claim that BMW have now officially cancelled the Z4M. Apparently the economic downturn has stopped development before it got past the signoff. X5 and X6 M variants have got the go ahead though. Shame really.

Blah blah blah... they've said it before and they'll say it again. But they will release it sometime in the future like they have in the past.

Either way, "given the current economic crisis," there really is no business case for a full-on M version of anything. So BMW's explanation is flawed. Methinks they just want to encourage sales of the new Z4 after realizing that it will probably not be as successful as the Z3/Z4 of old. It's what happens when they price things above what a "commoner" can afford, despite the glut of lux addons.

+1. I fully concur. And the traditional BMW target audience (the upper middle class) is dwindling fast so they need products that will cater to other segments of the population. In that respect, an X5M makes more sense than a Z4M. The X5M will attract the wealthy baby boomer who is looking otherwise at a Cayenne.

Oh, you mean all those people that were living on borrowed money (stock market) to appear financially wealthy to there neighbors? Methinks that a few companies have bet on that rooster and are going to lose their shorts! :wink:
