Agreed. Only took my dad 30 minutes or so to do. Remove the airbox and sound generator and you can get down there easily.

Your dad did it in 30, what would you have done it in?
I admit access isn't an issue but getting the bolts out etc took me ages!

Well considering my dad isn't a mechanic, I'd say about the same time.

Anyone who finds undoing 2 bolts (torx iirc) difficult, needs to stepaway from any tool kit and take a long hard look at themselves.

Hardest part was making sure the bolts didn't fall on the floor :lol:

Hi everyone. Thanks for the advice. It is the starter, a few sharp raps with a hammer freed it up and I'll have a new one on standby

ECP have 30% off, try them and/or CP4Less. Well worth replacing as planned maintenance when you have some time, not sure if the bolts are single use on the M54 so worth checking.
