Iffy Finish on Window/Rubber Seal

This may be fussy, but I'm curious if anyone else has this nagging aesthetic snag... The rubber window seals on my coupe have a shiny/cracked appearance near the top (both driver and passenger side seals). Sorry for the bluury pic – it's a bit chilly outside and getting dark, but I think you can still make it out.

The car is not quite 1.5 years old (7,100 miles), and I don't know if this is just normal exposure to elements or bad parts. A recent M-coupe that I saw (older and with 4x the miles) had much nicer seals, even though the rest of the car was visible road and weather-worn.

Is this something that can be refurbished? Or might BMW replace them under warranty (or would they just say that's normal wear and tear).

bmw should cover it as it is perishing and will cause a leak eventually. show them it- ask if they were putting it out as an approved used would tey leave it like that and ull get ur answer!

Ah, good perspective and point... Thanks! I'm taking her in for an off-schedule maintenance next weekend and will talk to the shop supervisor. I'll email him the pics, too.

Cheers! :)
