If you're in this situation: "I need a car, any car"

I regularly follow the state of lease deals, always find it interesting... this is a good one today:

Plug in hybrid?
http://www.centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/vehicle/detail/73188/BMW-3-SERIES-SALOON.html

Bmw 3 Series Saloon 330e Sport 4dr Step Auto
£203.99/month
£2039.88 deposit
24 month lease
6000 miles.

Don't want to start a dupe of the epic pistonheads thread - but if anyone needs a 3 series saloon ....

It is - but not many places you can walk in with 2k and walk out with a brand new 3 series.. especially a hybrid!

£7,000 to drive 115 miles per week...
Without even looking in detail I'm bet that's plus servicing and VAT and a load of minor clauses.

Great headline numbers though

The 6000 miles is over the term and not per year then ????

Probably not PVR as I quickly looked as I changed trains. Assume I'm wrong and make that 230. Still a piddling distance in a shiny new family car.

Hang on - back in the office and can consider the reply.. 6,000 miles per annum is just 115 miles per week.
I was right assuming I'm not imssing the point of your comment.

What the hell is the point of a new car that a 10 mile daily return commute would use up the entire allowance? Fine for a weekend car but surely not a PCP..

Reality is the deal will translate to way more than that by the time you factor in realistic mileage or excess mileage charges.

I'd hope we could at least take servicing out of the equation, that mileage and 2 year lease, surely it will be coming up for its first service as you hand it back to them.
hybrids scare the hell out of me in anything but a new lease capacity. I keep seeing a load of prius' running around as taxis where I live, some of them can be a good few years old, if and when the batteries die surely the replacement costs are more than the vehicles worth!
