IE 9 - Forum looks odd

So I just upgraded Internet Explorer from 9 Beta to 9.0

Everything works just perfect except this forum  The main header bar is splt up into misaligned sections and the menu bar has gone. Can't see recent posts, etc.

All other websites I visit seem to be just fine, so what's happened?

Please don't tell me IE is crap - I know

You're just a bleeding edge warrior.

Hold on I'll check my 9.0RC install on the Win7.

ETA: Just checked and it's the same for me. Compatibility mode didn't help either.

Firefox 3.6.1.3, Firefox 4.0b11, Safari 5.0.3, and Opera 11.01 all render this page fine on mine.

Likely to do with standards mode. Have a read of this (if you can be bothered) or just use a better browser ;)

Thanks guys - good confirmation that it's not just me, but as to the article and what to do - that all lost me.

So I'd best just switch to one of my other browsers, unless you can give me the idiots guide answer to fix it?

I do some web development in spare time and the crap compatibility and piss-poor attempts at sticking to standards is so frustrating. It's so annoying getting something to look perfect in firefox or chrome, then opening IE and finding it looks awful.

Any chance of a screenshot? I'm on a mac so haven't got ie9 but if I can see the problem I will try and fix it :)

LOL, just got out the work laptop to try and install IE9 and I can't coz it's running XP... brilliant Microsoft, f**king genius!

Firefox....... :)
I don't use IE (of any flavour) as standard, but I do have to make sure some of the material I produce doesn't 'break' other browsers, so I test on Safari, Firefox, Opera, Omniweb, Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc. or whatever other fringe browser the client want me to test on.

Then they complain that the format that works on all browsers removes half of the functionality, so we remove some of the browsers until the client's happy with the compromise between functionality & proliferation.

I think I have fixed it. Can someone with IE9 please open a new browser session and open up the site and let me know if it works now?

Thanks

Jim
