Idrive tv enabling

Hi. I've just bought a UK 2011 2.3 highline z4 with idrive. The idrive hasn't got the tv function, so I was wondering is it possible to get it working. Do I have to take it to BMW? Is there a box I can buy? Is it a software fix? etc. I have no idea about these things. Only that I'd love to watch the footy while my wife goes shopping.. lol. Any suggestions appreciated.

I believe that you will require the TV tuner for starters. I doubt it's a cheap or easy retrofit and I wouldn't recommend sitting with the inhibition on but the engine not running for long periods of time as it'll drain the battery.

You'd be cheaper buying a 3G tablet.

It isn't listed as a retrofit option but I'm sure it can be done.
 
Ok. Are there any 3rd party tv tuners compatible that will work with the idrive system without messing it up. Does it have a av audio and video in feed.
