Had an alignment done at the dealer this past weekend. The service guy mentioned that I should replace the belt and idler pulley soon as it sounds like the bearings are going out and it might seize.
I've read a lot of threads on replacing the pulley and belt on the M54 engine and it looks simple enough. What I was wondering is if anyone with a Z4 has done it? And can it be done without needing to lift the front end (I don't have anyway of lifting it off the ground)?
Clearance looks pretty tight from the top, so I didn't know if we needed to go from the bottom to route the new belt on the lower pulleys
Thanks!
