Idiot of the Year, I forgot to bid on Z4 bargain :-(

I watched an auction all last week, for a set of soft top side covers (the ones that seem to be asking anything up to$200 - although I'm not sure if they sell at that price), complete with carry bag. I'll just hold off until the last day of bidding, and place a late bid to win it.
Sure enough, I woke up this morning with the feeling I'd forgotten something, and when I got to work, I remembered the auction.
With a sinking feeling, I logged into the auction site, checked the listing.
Closed - sold for $1
Yes - one NZ dollar (so, about 50p)

Let's just say I'm a tad disappointed with myself :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Still, I just have to keep reminding myself that they probably would have sat in the garage because it would be too much of a faff constantly taking them off and putting them on everytime I wanted to put the roof up/down.
Well that's what I keep telling myself....

Oh yeah, did I mention the auction also included a car cover? Not sure if genuine BMW Z4 cover (it looks the right colour), but I'm hoping it was just a cheap generic cover otherwise it's more salt in the wound....

Feel free to pour your derision on my awesome auction skills.

You are categorically, undeniably, indefatigably....an idiot!

For next time....use lotsnipe.
You're welcome.

Auction Raptor, works for me, bids in the last 2 seconds so if you have set a reasonable amount most of the time you will win. :)

Thanks for the auction sniper tips, but I don't believe they work with our online auction site (it's not Ebay). Still no excuse for forgetting though.
I think it might be a symptom that I think I've had enough of the Z4, I just can't get enthused anymore :( . I'll do a couple of jobs that are outstanding (new Magnaflow exhaust sitting in the garage waiting to be fitted, new 224's need an alignment, and I need to find/eliminate strange noise in engine bay, sounds like a heatshield or some metal vibrating/rattling...), but after that I can't be bothered.
Still, summer's almost here, so it will get out of the garage a bit more when I can. Being on call 2 weeks out of 4 cuts down on the trips away I can do as well.

Hi.... Well looking at them not such a bad loss as the one on the right is broken and also seems the lack the fabric covering. The other cover looks like its for a Z3 ?

they should look like this

And I've only used them once when showing my car. Got a Gaptech and I just like to click my remote and walk away as the roof raise's etc rather than fluffing around to remove them and put them in the boot just to lock up my car.

I'm pretty sure they're both for the Z4, but interesting that (at least) one's broken.
I have a gaptech as well, so that's a good point about not being able to do the 3-clicks and walk away.
I think you've cheered me up a bit now :)

I have to echo the sentiments with regards to the Gap-Tech. The Gap-Tech is probably the best mod I ever did and the side covers render it completely redundant. It's that classic trade off of looks over convenience. Having said that I don't think I could ever bring myself to sell my covers either purely for how sought after they are, despite never making it out of the boot.
