Identical numbers on GM5 module

Would a GM5 module (GM5starLow) with identical part numbers need coding or is this a straight swap?

Cheers. Does this apply to all the corresponding modules as listed in real OEM? On other words will any gm5 star 12 low for the year and model z4 work without coding? There's so much info on this yet no clear answer!
