ID4 Motion Digital Cluster

Hi everyone,

I've been super keen on getting a digi cluster for the Z4 for a while since I saw the ID4's.

They currently only produce them for the E89 and the E46 (as well as a few other cars) but not for the E85.

I've already contacted them to ask if they would but no response.

Does anyone know if the E46 cluster would fit and or be compatible?

They have a similar overall shape the Z4 has these unique speedometer shields that the E46 doesn't have.

I'm curious to see if I could get the ID4 for the E46 and fit it to the Z4.

Looking forward to your replies,

Adnan

I’ve queried them on this as well, and they informed me the cost and work of the development process wouldn’t be offset by the number of interested buyers. This was about a year ago.

A friend of mine has contacted them on the very same thing more recently, and they let him know that if there were enough interested parties they might develop one as well. So by all means: get in touch with them!

As an aside: a digital cluster in our two binnacles would be absolutely stunning, with the opportunity to add relevant data fields to the middle section and swap dials (fuel, temps, etc) below the main cluster 8)

Exactly as the OEM cluster doesn't display oil temp which I've been wanting to monitor as well as having an accurate numerical digi coolant temp gauge would be nice too.

I'll get in contact again I really want one to be honest!

You might be better off just using a seperate guage for the items you feel are needed - plenty of sultuions that are available to actually just go buy today & get fitted.

Another alternative is to use one of the phone apps that display customisable elements (torque was it?) & be done.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm in no rush it's more of a nice to have honestly, I plan on keeping the car for a long while so I don't mind waiting!

Planning on buying the satnav dash and fitting an aftermarket satnav also (at some point in the future)

The E46 and E85/86 CAN messages are the same so the cluster would work provided you could get it to fit.

Sweet I was curious to see if it would work, I might buy an OEM E467 cluster (they're like £20) and test-fit it. If it fits easily I'm sure I could buy the E46 one!

I've just got in contact with ID4 and they said it might be coming within the next few months! Get your wallets ready! I'm well excited been wanting one since I bought the Z4

Sounds good! Really hope they do take the two binnacles into their design and don’t just throw that overboard

this is something I've been hoping for since I got my e85 a few years ago, the digital cluster would really elevate the driving experience cause I want to look of my e85 but with a more modern z4 interior appearance

It’s not going to happen on the E85 for many reasons

Why though? If the e46 has the same CAN messages it should be too hard, or does anyone think that the e89 cluster on id4 might work?

The one that fits the E89 is a bitch to o fit..E85 has less space..needs custom cables and mounts..my guess based on their E89 experience it’s not going to happen..
