Although my friend has a 1.6 Golf and as we had to do a big shop i let her drive..... and her car is so quiet on idle compared to the Z it sounds like the car isnt even started!
Similar thing happened to me last Friday, as well, as I was loaned a demo 320d 3-series whilst my baby was in having the 108`s refurbed.
Flamin` hell, couldn`t believe how much I missed my Zed, even for just the one night !
Don`t get me wrong, the 320d was very nice, and such a beautiful ride, but it just felt larger and more unwieldy (probably because it is....
), and whilst it was torquey in the lower gears, the pull in 6th on the motorway home was dire compared to the pull in my Zed. Okay, I know full-well that I`m comparing a 2.0 diesel to a 3.0 petrol, but there was just no comparison, and before anybody tells me to try the 330d, then I`ve also owned 2 of those as well, BUT, having now owned my Zed, I wouldn`t go back, even for the 335d, as I just enjoy the handling, and the smoothness of the Zed, not to mention the engine noise !
