I know it sounds incredibly lazy but...

I was driving to work this am and noticed my car clock had not updated itself. It's got idrive and DAB radio. All our (cheap) home DAB radios updated automatically as does my phone.

I had to do it myself! All of a few clicks but even so.

Shouldn't a car with sat nav know what country and time zone you are in and update the time for you?

I know what you mean.

The BMW dab just seems unfinished to me.

Our MINI Clubman has it and it doesn't hand over between local MUXs at all - ie listen to a station with neighbouring coverage and you have to retune manually by searching for MUXs in your area.

It's poor considering my old Sony dab headunit used to do it and it was only £100!

I reckon bmw need to team up with a company like Apple or Google so that they get the whole consumer friendly/usability thing. I know the primary purpose of these machines is to get you from A to B (and you can't fault the Z4 for that...), but if they are then going to layer advanced technology on top of that such as the iDrive and online capability, why not make it user friendly.

Mine auto updated... With my intravee and using the RDS time!
