I hope it was worth it

High horsepower, wet roads, and obviously not comfortable with a stick, what else was to be expected??? :(

On top of what ovrkll points out - this car also does not have the electronic nannies to keep her butt out of trouble....

Sad....

Interesting that in this month's Evo they have chosen that as the most frightening car ever built! :) If you don't respect it, it will kill you!

I once drove one with the 289 engine in it and you could get sideways on dry pavement faster than you could say OH :censored:

I saw an interview with Bill Cosby on the Tonight Show alwhile back. He said Shelby gave him a Cobra, but he didn't like it because it made too much noise, so gave it back.

That interview was on Utube but has been pulled and was funny as hell...

At least it was just a replica (notice the busted fiberglass nose). A real 427 Cobra would pay the mortgage on my house (and probably put my kids through college). They simply aren't driven on the streets by idiots (unless they are stinking rcih idots - that is  ).

assuming you have a decent motor, there is really nothing those cars would like to do better than kill you.

anytime you see a cobra, you can pretty much count on it being a replica (which, of course vary from complete crap to far nicer than the original)

slightly over 1000 (the exact number is still debated) were originally produced.

on the other hand, there are tens of thousands of replicas out there.

I would constantly have people ask me to do burnouts in ours (which had a 427 top oiler). There was no way to make them understand the ramifications of f***ing around in such a machine.

I certainly have never driven a car that was more frightening...or more fun to drive.

The ricer kids would always try to race me. I dont think they had any idea what it was.

Interestingly though, the car was apparently invisible to corvettes, porsches, etc. Their drivers would never look over at the car...much less pull up next to it at a stoplight. I'm not sure why. :D
