I held my breath on this one

This joker, just to prove he had a better car, decided to overtake on a blind bend.
Staffordshire council resurfaced this road six months ago and put broken lines on the bend when pretty much the rest of the road is solid double.
Glad my dash cam wasn't used by the police in a coroners court, to explain how we all died.
The bend is much tighter than the still capture shows.
Tried contacting Staffs council on their site to suggest they put double lines, but as usual, their contact system seems to have a problem.

Renault modus.
I think what wound the driver up was a previous bend i am very familiar with, like daily route i can take at speed, that driver slowed down for the bend and dropped back. So it felt it was time to catch up and overtake.

He needs dragging out of his car & beating to death with a copy of the Highway Code for that manoeuvre.

Another Formula 1 family-snotbox driver.

I see a lot of this these days.
Fellas driving sprogwagons, refusing to relinquish any shred of competitiveness on the road and resentful of the fact that they made life-choices, i.e. having kids, which now prevents them from even thinking about owning a nice sporty 2-seat convertible and realising that any future possibility of owning such an automobile will be in 20-30 years when the kids have finally fled the nest and have started supporting themselves so he can start thinking about a nice drop top.

I assume those bushes were bellow the eyeline when the road markings were approved. That is a dangerous corner. No defence for the moron in the Renault, when he is arguing at the pearly gates with the poor sod he kills.

Up until 3 weeks ago the road looked like this mid summer, they have just cut down all the trees.
Probably now giving a false sense of forward visibility.
What you have to keep in mind is how long it took the driver to overtake me, it just didn't happen in a couple of seconds.

A quick check and its due MOT next month - judging by the maintenance record (annual fail rate  ) your lucky all the bits made it past you together!

:o :o It’s even worse in motion...!! At least 4 cars in front of you, what possible advantage is the prick getting..?

Absolute knuckle dragger....I’d burn that pile of shite and make them walk. Beats me how people that thick get the money up for a car in the first place. :x

I think you really need to submit that video to the Police FB, people who behave in this way (and none of us are perfect) need a warning shot and you may save someones life.
There is no excuse for this but we have to remember different people are in different situations. Around 20 years ago I drove a guy to hospital who was having a heart attack after being told the ambulance would be twenty minutes away!!!! I drove like a complete nutter, running reds etc and luckily he (we) made it.
So while there is no excuse sometimes there is good reason - if that makes any sense!!
Even with my own experience this kind of behaviour still makes me mad, funny thing life......

Jeesch

I had a 44 ton truck on my rear quarter flashing his lights and using his horn in heavy heavy heavy rain aproaching a traffic jam at a roundabout on the A2, just this wednesday. As the road turned into a dual carridge way he pulled out and over took me. Then noticed the roundabout and indicated to pull back in. Gain ? 20 yards.

Oh was sporting green L plates

If you have the footage why don't you send it to the police, the reg number is clearly visible.... if that driver is stupid enough to do it once then the next time someone else maybe not so lucky coming round the bend!

Report to police, i think a waste of time.
Tried to submit a query to Staffordshire highway web site, to ask why there are broken lines on a blind bend, when most of the road is double white.
As usual their online site just said unable to submit request at this time (and probably any other time).
