I thought I could hear the curious tone
Of the cornet, clarinet and big trombone
Fiddle, 'cello, big bass drum
Bassoon, flute and euphonium
Far away, as in a trance
I heard the sound of the Floral Dance
I heard the sound of the Floral Dance

RIP Terry

Just posted a thread too, and deleted it - yours is much better Rob.

RIP Terry :(

in terms of what this man means to the whole of Britain and Eire - he probably deserves several threads.

just watching the BBC tribute - what a broadcasting heavyweight .

If Louis Walsh had died I'd have said good riddance but not Terry....done so much for so many good causes. Although my Irish girlfriend complained this morning about him, and Bob Geldoff, should not have been given Knighthoods as they are both Irish.

Sad day :(

A very sad day. It brought a tear to my eye, I will admit.
No more Janet & John :(

Very sad indeed, a very, very good presenter with a very calm pleasant voice.

Well done everyone for adding your thoughts about Sir Terry ,the greatest TOG of them all.Got to agree with the mention of this cancer shite taking all our famous people, Bowie,Rickman and now Sir Tel.

Genuinely saddened by this, top news item on the BBC News website, no mention on $ky news website

R.I.P. Sir Terry. A sad loss of someone who seems to have been around since I was very young (and now I'm not!).

Shocking news this morning - very sad and such a character and part of nearly everyone's life, lots of memories from early radio getting ready for work, Eurovision to Blankety Blank - shared experience.
Big loss indeed and as already mentioned, doesn't seem a week goes by without such news. RIP Terry.
