It's done, but with one small secret... promise not to tell?

Here's the secret...coz with plastic pipes you can't detect them anymore

So, seems a good point to hear some of your DIY stories

Mate i feel for you!! You would think they should have some protection. You got right in the middle of that pipe though well done :poke:

I'll tell her when she gets home... though would help my therapy if I heard some of your other DIY disasters

Ahhh, I thought this was going to be about that scary looking dildo object in the refelction........

That'll be Jemb's arm!

the long black object is not an arm  it's the log burner chimney.

I did one better than that ... 20 years ago I drilled above a door in the kitchen (to put speaker wire in) and I went through the alarm cable as well as the water pipe. That was a metal one but I did not expect one to run over a door :)

in our last house the builders managed to nail gun through a central heating pipe - and perfectly seal it- no one noticed ..... until the nail corroded through 18 months later between christmas and new year - the reason for the central heating pressure loss instantly solved :slaphead:

I like the update on the wall OP.... and plus, you've managed to save some money from the original quote... well done! She can't be mad about that!

I can't remember having too many DIY nightmares.... except when I was trying to change the brakes on my first car...

I only had 2 scissor jakes to hold the car up...then realised I needed something from the house... and my keys were still in the garage door...

When I went to get them out... I put some pressure on the car, and both scissor jacks gave way, landing my car on the ground - on its disks...

:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Ouch

Always my biggest fear with the car jacked up

I do remember err a friend telling me that they fixed a squeaky floorboard with a longish screw that proceeded to go straight through the central heating pipe... :whistles:
