I hate cleaning my alloys!

Today's task was to remove the gluey residue of old wheel weights. Cleaned the wheels first with Bilberry which is excellent but doesn't remove stubborn stains, so I set to work scrubbing with the AG Intensive Tar Remover and a microfibre. The weights came off eventually but I was left with this :headbang:

After an hour and a half's labour and two raw knuckles, I am now thoroughly pissed off. It's that bad I'm considering taking the car to be cleaned by the Polish chaps down the road :o

There are still marks that I can't remove at all, please let me your alloy wheel cleaning secrets. Or is the secret not to drive the damn thing at all

When you get it to the stage you have, the secret to further success is ......... stop looking at it and drive the bloody car!

If your talking about the lightish marks then to me it looks as if the lacquer is damaged.
+1 I think. And, Flimper, OCD?

I thought it was the lacquer, I presume that means a full refurb?

And yes, I do have OCD, all my tins are lined up beautifully in the cupboard :D

Nothing wrong with OCD as far as a car is concerned

I think they would polish out TBH.

I'm not sure, you can feel something when you run a finger over them. Will give it a shot anyway
