Nuff said... still seething... :headbang:

It certainly seems that in life you do not always get what you pay for, gold plated prices but where is the gold plated service. Heck even nissan used to call me to let me know how things were going, even if it was fine, yet alone if problems are being encountered!

GRRR. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I think a certain stuttgart manufacturer may get my business next time when I decide to change cars, although they are probably just as bad :( I bet hyundai dealers would bend over backwards to be helpful, BMW UK dealers are all smiles and suits and nothing between their ears with regard to mechanical knowledge or customer needs.

If anyone can recommend a good bmw dealership or independant in Essex, UK please do!

One hell of a rant, but needed to be said for sure. I still cannot believe that dealers offer really poor service, then present you with a massive bill for your trouble. At the end of the day, its all about the money, customer service is secondary if your lucky.

Take it from me......they are just as bad :x

Mine is due for an oil service and I was torn between using an indy or just go to the main dealer.....Your rant just reminds of pretty much every main dealer experience I've ever had (not BMW)and reason why I was considering going to an indy in the first place.

What is most annoying is that I had convinced myself that they would be different since they are a 'prestige' manufacturer....

I am more than capable of servicing the car myself above and beyond their level of care, yet to get those precious stamps I feel obliged to pay vast sums of money to get kicked in the teeth.

A labour rate of £125 + vat is insane!

It's a bit out of your way, but Murketts in Huntingdon are passable, as are Bensten (indy) in St Ives (the Huntingdon one). But I must admit, dealers in the UK aren't a patch on my original dealer, who I still miss every time I need something doing to my car.

My recent experience was horrible as well. I purchased and have serviced my Z4 at Bill Jacobs and what happened is unbelievable.
I stopped in originally because my vacuum hose had kinked. I had a mechanic and service adviser look and confirm it had to be replaced. We scheduled an appointment so they can get the part. Well, Friday the next week I drive up there and had my service adviser check me in as well as confirm the part was in. After waiting over an hour I flagged down a service adviser and asked if my vehicle was ready. He went to the back and came back 5 minutes later telling me the part never showed up. I asked then why had I spent an hour waiting for my car to be repaired and he had no answer. Needless to say I left after over an hour of waiting un repaired. I did have some say when BMW called me today to ask how my last visit went and I let them have it. I have always given the dealer a perfect score since I know the service advisers get paid on perfect scores and if they are somewhat acceptable I give them the benefit of doubt but in this case I gave them the absolute worst feedback without sounding vindictive.

I am currently awaiting a response to my complaint about Sytner in Romford. Got to a point where I wrote to Sytner Group and BMW UK as there service department are a bunch of muppets (think Miss Piggy is on reception)

Miss piggy on reception, kermit the service manager and animal as the technician !....i can picture it now. Bert & Ernie probably on valeting duty.

It gets better :headbang:

I go out tonight after getting home from work to set the correct tyre pressures and find that they have fitted the wrong length valve on the left front tyre only :x Now I need to get this fixed as its an eyesore and will no doubt find them reluctant to want to refit the tyre, new valve and rebalance it.... not to mention when will I find the time to drive 15 miles to them and then have to wait to have this done.... I'm fuming :headbang:
