Just about to get in my work car this morning and I thought I'd forgotten my phone ( this is not unusual, I leave stuff everywhere). So I checked in the boot of my car where my laptop case is.
Sure enough the phone is in the laptop case. Pleased with myself that I hadn't forgotten it I popped it in my pocket, shut the boot and went round to the drivers door, which Iheard relocking just before I got there. Reach to the pockets.......no keys.
I'd locked them in the boot of the car.
Now normally I would have wandered inside and picked them up, however this wasn't possible as I was in the car park of the Hilton in Watford, about 110 miles form my house.
So I get a taxi in to work in Hatfield, and work out if I get the train, at 1pm I can be home by 5pm ( wonder why I don't get public transport much) and get the spare, get the train back and I'm away.
Tells the OH what I'm doing and she jumps in the Z and brings me the key, 3.5 hour round trip.
I am a lucky man to have such a fantastic girlfriend.
My colleague then agrees to drive me back to my car to pick it up, as we're both going home tonight.
So we get the car and go for some lunch in that bit round the back of the Galleria.
Come out from Lunch.... PARKING TICKET EACH.
Sign says 1 HOUR FREE PARKING (if a valid ticket displayed)....
I am now home researching how to put my appeal in. as they want to charge me £50 for parking in a car park that was free.
