HVAC only blowing hot - interior temp sensor fault?

Hi all,

Got a niggling issue with the ///M: the HVAC always seems to blow warm air at me regardless of the interior temperature or AC on/off

I think there's a fault with the interior temperature sensor, where is it located, is it easy to change?

Anyone have any other faults or experienced similar issues?

sweet... so all you'll need is an umbrella to keep the rain off and you're sorted! :P

There's another thread in problems section that mentions the servo operated flaps up behind the dash... doesn't sound exactly same as yours but could be worth a look, remove glove box and mess around with the dial, see if you can hear/see anything!?

I remember seeing a fault code for the HVAC system last time? If you're around at 3.30 we could do another fault code check?

The sensor is below the centre dial on the fan speed setting (behind the little vertical slats). I'n not sure if it's replaceable or whether you have to change the entire unit. I seem to remember reading somewhere though that if that sensor fails it defaults to a 20'C value for interior temp, so I'm not convinced that will be the answer to your problem.

We read the fault codes today and got a recurring fault dtc for the HVAC system. It couldn't read the code though..
Next step will be to swap out the control panel (assuming it has the temp sensor in it) with one that works to see if the problem goes with the part
 
The temp sensor actually has a little fan behind it to pull the air from inside the car over it. If this has got jammed up with dust, it may be jammed.

Also, with the ign on, engine off, when you rotate the temp control from min to max, can you hear the temp control flap inside the heater box moving? If not, it has probably jammed, or the actuating motor has come loose on the end of it (have seen this before) Easy to get at by removing the glovebox.
