Huge scratch ....sigh

Having a bad few weeks so decided to take car out for a quick spin to cheer myself up. Late in the evening so hardly any traffic when from somewhere a branch or something flies across the car bonnet from nearside to offside! Happened so quick and made very little noise so thought nothing of it. Pulled in to petrol station half hour later to see about 3 foot long scratch across my otherwise pristine bonnet Should have just left it in the garage.

Will have a go trying to polish it out but realistically its going to need some work. How much will BMW charge to fix it? presumably they would spray the whole panel?

If you can't polish it out you can probably use a scratch repair kit on it, unlikely that a branch would have gone through all the paint and down to the primer, shouldn't be any need for a respray, all depends how deep the scratch is, look and feel with your nail.

If its really just from a branch you might get away with a light wet sand and machine. Of course id leave it to someone who knows what their doing.
