How to ruin an E89

It is what it is  its a creation of sorts & will appeal to some for obvious reasons .
Quality looks ropey in the pics , close up i doubt it would improve

Already discussed in the for sale section a few days ago, if went for 28k.....don’t shoot me.....just passing on the fact 28k went on a pretend GT3.....

Looks like a boy racer car. Anybody else notice this potent racing machine didn't even have a strut brace on it :?

Nothing more than a kitted mildly breathed upon standard 35i....each to their own but I wouldn’t drive that on the road out of sheer embarrassment.....

In the advert it said stripped out interior the only bits I could see stripped out was the glove box and a screw cover from behind the door handle.

As above it looks a bit rough in places

22000 miles, i would look at it. The interior is tracked out, speedo etc remoed for aim displays etc. Its a track car so guality of finish is not the primary aim anyway. Personally I think it looks way better than a GT3 track car with its 1985 throwback styling.
I have always liked the pierced & contoured bonnets as well. Wonder if you can buy them??? Anyone????

Seems fishy. Claims to be 500hp but has no mention of a larger turbo charger, with an intercooler and downpipe removal I'd expect 400~. Also for it to be a track ready car it would need a bit of cooling work done and there's no mention of additional radiators.

i like it. pretty sure i'm never gonna get to drive a GT3 car in real life, so... i'd take this to a trackday no problems. even if its not fully stripped out and its only running 400bhp, with some proper tyres, brakes and set up suspension it'll still show a clean pair of heels to other actual racecars.

and id feel like a hero driving it too.

Each to their own. It's neither proper race car or a usable road car. It appears, from a quick look, to have all the bad points of each and few of the good points, so personally I don't get the point of it existing.

The point is that it won't show anyone a clean pair of heels. It'll probably overheat like any other road car when thrashed around a track and hasn't been stripped out. You also have the disadvantage of it having mismatched tyres so it''d probably handle like s**t.

Id be willing to give it a go. not particularly difficult to swap on some decent tyres, brake pads and set suspension up, and fit a radiator if it hasnt already been done. and then even if the aero did nothing, 400bhp is plenty to see off actual racecars. Note i didnt say actual GT3 cars - those things would run rings round 700bhp supercars, but it would happy see off anything mazda mx5, bmw saloon cup, anything like that. lets agree to disagree

and for funsies, heres a genuine Z4 gt3 racecar, complete with V8 engine, slick tyres and functional aero... which went for a very reasonable £118,000!

Two projects I would do if I ever make lots and lots of money:

1. Put the V8 from a GT3 into a 35is (and all necessary mechanical parts) hopefully those bonnet vents are required like the V8 M3!

2. Put a folding roof and a normal interior into a track Z4 GT3, and have it road legal. Just because I could.

3. (As this would have cost loads anyway) buy a stock Z4 GT3 and have it opposite a sofa and a whiskey cabinet.

As much as I like my Z4, if I had unlimited funds it would be an AMG GT that would take pride of place in my living room :D
