How to remove boot lock ?

Hi

I need to get the boot resprayed and wondered if anyone knew how to remove the boot lock ?

I've searched but can find any old posts.

Hi,

If you remove the boot pull down hande (O/S), you will see the back of the lock mechainism - release the bowden cable running to the latch (Central locking release), then there are 2 Pozi drive screws to remove, rotate the whole lot about 45 deg (Can't remember if its clock or anti clock) and pull the whole lock assembley out. I may have missed a step or two, but once you see it it's pretty obvious what you have to do .

how much have you been quoted to respray your boot lid mate
need mine done

I had both bumpers repaired and sprayed and the (badges side) of the boot for £370.

I'm taking it back to get the boot lid looked at as he didn't remove the lock and looks tatty around the lock rubber seal.

It's a ok job. Black is never easy to respray but there a bit of orange peel to sort out too.

thats a good price me thinks hope he sorts out the bits for you,shame he didnt do it propley the first time round

Other body shop was quoted £600.

You pay for what you get as the old saying goes. But on a 9 yr old car worth £5500 approx I didn't want to spend too much.
