How to much fit cruise to a facelift Z4?

In a recent bulk buy - £62 for the stalk. £14 (ish) for the wiring loom

Jamie at Sopers in Lincoln will probably be able to get all the parts for under £90. A substantial saving

Indy has quoted me £324

How much would the parts be if I tried to do it myself?

It's the instalment of the wiring loom that's the trickier part, as there seems to be 4 or 5 different varients. You can save money on the cowling under the steering wheel, it already has indentations inside so if you have a dremel can easily cut it out, otherwise loom plus stalk will cost about £90 delivered from a stealer.

Integrating the wiring loom is not as easy as wiring up a set of spot lamps, so although there are some excellent write ups on here, glad i got an indy to do mine as my wireing was covered in the leaflet I obtained on here, but wasn't the version found on this forum.

Best of luck, nice mod but remember, there's NO light to say when it's on.

I am going to do this later in the year - question though, why is there no light ? Is there a light when it is factory fitted ?

Ok thanks my quote included parts from BMW @ £190 + VAT

I suspect this probably included a steering cowling. If you're happy doing some DIY cutting, you can sae some £££ here. As said, the cuttin marks are clearly visible.

I dont have a Dremel, and I managed with some careful cutting using a small hacksaw, a file and some fine sandpaper

+1

Me too, but did most of it (tracing the wires through was a lengthy job) and I've seen neater dremmel work, but needed a mate to do the splicing (only two wires) and soldering in about 5-10 mins. Worked first time :)

Ah....so not having your foot on the accelerator pedal isn't a clue that it's on then.... :P

Even in my 3series, the light only indicated that the system was 'on'.

The light could be on - but the cruise control itself could be disabled, so the light didn't really serve much purpose.
