How to maintain car battery?

My zed is now only driven for about 12 miles a week at weekend (for over a year now). The yellow battery warning light had come up twice in the last 3 months.

The car is parked on the driveway. What is the best way to keep the battery charged? I know most car battery chargers are connected to the main. What else can I use? Thanks for your advice in advance. :)

Not tried this myself but seems to be a potential solution??

ksher, take it to work the odd day and go out for a blast occasionally at the weekend. I leave mine sometimes but then I drive it for a good while too.

My work/office had changed. The journey is now 160 miles round trip (3.5-3.75 hours). Before I moved to head office, the journey was just 48 miles a day. At weekdays, I drive the diesel hire car provided by the company to work (all fuel is paid by employer). If I use my own car, I can only claim mileage. The amount will just cover fuel and tyre wear, not enough for maintenance and depreication on mileage.

Solar car battery charger is good idea. I will get one from Maplin tomorrow. Thanks.

Ah OK that's a fair drive, are you doing that each day?

3 to 5 times a week. It depends what I have to do for the week. The journey is okay (150 miles at cruising speed on M1).
