How to handle this icelink problem?

I DIY'd my icelink. Hooked it into the radio. For about 6, or more, months the sound output seems to be bouncing between speakers. In general, sometimes from the left speakers, sometimes from the right speakers, sometime as it should be...stereo. When the sound is not playing stereo as it should and if I bang on the dash above the radio, sound is corrected to stereo. Is this something that happens with the icllink, or am I having trouble with the car's radio/stereo system? Problem is, although I'm still under warranty, I doubt that BMW will honor the warranty with the icelink still hooked into the car. And, of course, I really don't feel like undoing the icelink. Suggestions please.

might be a loose connection, you could remove the icelink to see if the problem disappears, if it doesnt then take it back to the dealer and dont mention the icelink.

what firmware are you runnning on the icelink?

I had the same problem.... the quality of the linkage is really crap. I ended up using duct tape to hold it all together.

Hate to say it, but it does look as though I will have to diy again to see if it is the iceling connection or the speaker connections. Just don't like monkeying around with the removing the vents and stuff to get to the radio and the the connector. I was lucky enough not to mar anything, but who knows how the second time around will go? I know that on the install I first tried getting to the connector by removing the panel below the radio, but I couldn't manipulate the connector to get at it... Don't have overly large hands, but the angles were tough to work with. Maybe I'll try that approach again, with a little more determination.
