How to fit dashcam to a convertible????

Anyone fitted a dashcam to their soft top Z? I bought one without it even crossing my mind that I couldn't run it down the headliner.

If so, what's the process?

If I remember I'll take a picture of mine later, most mount theirs on the glass behind the rear view mirror so it is not visible from the driver's seat.

Not an actual dashcam, but fitted my nikon actioncam with a simple suction pad on the dash.
Remove or install within seconds and fairly steady.
