I know there's lots of posts on this but mines slightly different to all of what I have read so far..
most people seem to have a fault where the passenger air bag light comes on randomly for various reasons.
mine however was self inflicted
last weekend my window regulator snapped so I ordered a replacement and set about fixing it... thought I would do it after work and ended up getting called out for a family emergency so had to abandon it for a few hours, came back and it was dark and I needed to get it all finished as it was needed for work the next day!
basically in my haste trying to put it all back together I must have done something to the airbag as the light was on when battery etc was connected, can I just get it reset myself or does it have to be a BMW job?
mechanic tried to clear fault code but couldn't, but the next day I took door card off again and had to remove and adjust everything so made sure everything was back as it should be so should be good to go now. (maybe in my rush I connected it all up to battery before I connected airbag, honestly cant remember as was in such a rush trying to check things before completely clipping all panels etc back)
haven't had a chance to go back to my mechanic yet but just wondering if it needs to be BMW then it will be a wasted trip anyway?
