How to avoid swirl marks

Yeah, it's s**t here. I'm going to move to Scotland - water's even softer there. And there's LOADS of rain :D

A whole house water softener is something I am considering, but depends on whether we want to invest much more in this house..
The installation isn't permanent, there are bypass valves & pipes so, if you move house, the softener can be disconnected and taken with you

Used my DI vessel for the first time today (and washed the windows of the house). PPM of the water going in was 244, tested coming out it was 0 :D

Took a lot longer than 30mins, but the car was very, very dirty. Can't wait to see the results in the morning when it's dry :D

Mind how much water you use, washing the house windows will use an awful lot especially with your water hardness. That will kill the sand too quickly so skip the house cleaning :D

Hmmm. So far, got quite a few wee water marks. They rub off real easy,, and are much smaller than the dried drops of water if that makes sense. Not so bad as I have some devil's sperm to apply tomorrow which will get rid of them... Maybe some spray from the window washing :D

Just take Mrs B on a date at a nearby dogging spot and you'll get loads of the real stuff applied for free :P

The local doggers could not handle my raw sexual awesomeness. Devil sperm will do just fine

How long did you rinse for and did you runs the "right way", you have to spend time on the "dirty" water form the cracks and the mirrors of course as otherwise they will stain the clean paint …

You have to sheet the water, not spray it.

I only used the DI water to rinse, not 'normal' water. Spray hard in the gaps & to get soap off, watering can type flow after for enough time I think. It may just be on the bonnet, and it is very small spots, in which case it's blown soapy spray from the windows above the garage. Need to check the rest of the car in daylight. I'm sure it will be fine just need practice, definitely not disappointed

Rinse with normal water as you would use waaaaay too much DI water for rinsing the soap off.

I sheet the rinse stage with normal water, and then do the final rinse with the DI water. If you use the water in high quantities you will be running out of the DI water in no time.

Yeah, thought that when I was doing it, but I was too excited about using it to think about that first off.

How do you deal with the summer sun though ? I find the water dries quicker than I can get the car washed, so there will be water marks. Don't want to be buggering about swapping hoses all the time...

I have a dedicated DI vessel hose, so once I have finished the rinsing with normal water, I connect the normal hose to the DI vessel and finish the car off using the DI hose which has no end piece on it so it sheets.

Do you have to keep driving down to PVR's place to replenish your supply?

Nah, he gets it from NL, lasts quite a long time. Well sticky

Popping down in the near future to annoy him though.

PVR - yeah, I have a length of hose for the vessel too. Just had a look at the rest of the car and it looks completely clear of spots... So I think the spotting on the bonnet is just carelessness.
