How rare is your model?

Great website pointed to by evo's Chris Harris in a recent blog post, which allows you to see how many cars of a given make/model are on the road in the UK. Warning - this could be a big time-waster :D

http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk

In case anyone is interested, rarest recent model is listed as "BMW Z4 SDrive 35i LHD Turbo" (just 1 listed) and the most common is the SDrive 23i manual (1,726) ...

shame it doesn't list coupes and roadsters in different groups, it would be interesting to see how accurate these figures are, my info says there were 24,444 in total

Yep - there are literally thousands of Roadsters and only 400 Coupes. :D Very exclusive and will only get more so in the future.

Thats total left in the country in 2010... They must do it at the end of every year hence why theres no 2011 figures yet

well thats definately a mile off, 2791 coupes have been registered in the uk, may be a few have been sccrapped but not that many

Don't know why I got a double post 8)

Anyway, looking at the links the data comes from the Dept of Transport and there's a hell of a lot you can download. Nice project for someone to compare BMW and DoT data. :D

Typical coupe owner arithmetic. LMAO!! You guys do ask for it don't you....

Its showing the number within each model year that are still on the road - so you have to add ALL the numbers together......

That as been posted on here somewher, i forgot who posted it but it was info received from BMW

I am so glad that I purchased the 3.0 litre version, a lot less on the road than the 2.3 which is positively common :fuelfire:

I think that dealer cars will be SORN'd awaiting sale. That would seem to account for it, no other reason really.

Really not as many as I imagined there would be?

Mine was registered in May 09, so effectively a launch car.

Wonder how any were registered in Q1 when it wasn't launched till May?

So that's quarter 2:

Q2 112 licensed 15 sorned

Mine is the same age:

Q2 325 licensed 2 sorned

I think BMW probably registered a few for their own purposes - I remember my sales chap mentioning about being on staff training course and got to drive it quite early on.
