How often do you use SRP?

I clay, then use SRP, a few good passes, then wax, then wax, then leave it. Ideally, I'd not want to go back again for a good year, relying on waxes and good wash technique to keep the car nice. As good as it is, using it at it's best, by hand, is slow work. It'd take me 9am till 5pm to do my whole car well, and I'd want to seal all that hard work with lots of wax :D

I don't mind investing time to save time, but I'm not obsessive. I think SRP suits that kind of approach best really.

Why flatten swirls out (machine polish), when you can fill for 75% of the effect by hand :)

How often would be too often then for the SRP.

Thanks

Use it as much as you want, it wont remove any clearcoat (certainly by hand).
As its very very slighty abrasive it will clear the previous coat so you only really need to do one pass with it, although a couple would likely doubly make sure any swirls are filled as best they can be.

cheers, wasn't sure how abrasive it is, used dodo lime & prime in the past and I know you have to be more careful with that.

It's got next to no cut in it Ian so i wouldn't worry. Not a product i use, your lime prime and wax is sufficient without having to use a filler like SRP.

I'd not use it often, as you just wash/wear the fillers out each time, and essentially leave a very thin protective layer on the car...

Adding sealant and wax is ideal in any case, as it just protects your hard work putting the fillers/fine abrasives down, and the paint :)

SRP has sealant in its makeup, just needs a wax layer or 2 on top to protect it against the elements as SRP isnt that durable on its own.

Yeah, it beads for a week or so nicely, and feels slick, but it's best to protect that lovely sealed/filled base :)

On past cars I've done SRP + two coats of EGP and it's stayed looking good for maybe 4 months!

As above you can use every week if you like it will not remove any clearcoat but i normally detail my car every 6 months but have done 3 times a year when i was showing my last car.

AG EGP is worth poping on over the top of SRP gives protection and a nice base to top up with a wax.

With the Z4 i normally

Clay
AG SRP
AG EGP
Victoria Concours x 3

Have you thought about using a QD after washing once you have the car polished and waxed keeps that nice glossy look this one is very good

Spent the whole day cleansing my car, started with megs deep crystal paint cleaner then SRP and topped off with EGP. Looks very shiney and reflective now, will give another coat of EGP in the morning :)

Sorta.... I think they're referring to a specific product... Super Resin Polish. I forget who makes it.

Ah, thanks Phil. You're a sweetie for a figment. :flyboyaj:

Since my NXT and Pinnacle Sovereign are just about used up, I am moving over to Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 and The Wolfgang Füzion Estate Wax.

both the SPR and the wolfgang's sounds like the Duragloss I have been using for years.

And both are more expensive, does that make them work better??

Go to NAPA and by a bottle of the 101!!
