How Much?

Hi all,

I am after alittle bit of advice please. I am currently looking for a Z4 and I have found one! However, I feel it might be "alittle" over priced...?

It's a 07 plate - 2.5 sport and currently has just over 26k.. I had a shot of the car and love it. But, I don't love the price...

BMW are asking for £18,499, which includes 12 months road tax and some other stuff, ie, making sure the car looks shinny!

They offered me £6,000 for my Clio Trophy and I offered to put down a 5k deposit... The rest will be paid off by Finance over a 36 month period...

He said I need to pay £180 for a wind deflector, as the car doesn't have one!!

Does anyone else think that it's seems alot for a a car with such high mileage?

Thank you

Simon.

Thats a bit expensive mate. it has done 26k and it doesnt have a wind deflector. I think its a bit too much. have u looked everywhere. what options does it have? i found something similar

Good luck

Seems expensive but then at the same time prices have gone up since the beginning of the year. I paid 13.5k for my 07 2.0l SE with 14k on the clock back in january, i got 6 months tax and a wind deflector thrown in for free. Looking now and similar cars are going for 14.5-15k.

Also consider has it just been serviced as it will be due one at 30k. My car was fully serviced when i brought it including oil and brake fluid which means next service isnt due till november 2010 or 30k miles.

Doesn't seem completely silly considering the market at the moment. Given that you will struggle to find a 3.0Si from BMW for less than £20K (there were only a couple around when I looked last week), £18.5K maybe about right.

However, I'd reckon they should be giving you up to £1000 off and the wind deflector should be free.

If they can't do the right deal with you, walk away, there are lots more around. And if you lay down what you want from the deal, then they should come after you for the sale.

Thats a bit much, better examples about for less. I'd keep looking.

Just to show what is about, 20second pistonheads search...

Z4M roadster on 20k miles for a little over £20k...

So extent the finance and get the Z4M!

Problem with a Z4M is my age... I am only 21!

Have a look at buying privately. As long as the car is still in warranty and you give it a good going over before buying then you should be able to make a tidy saving.

That's what I did when I bought my 07 Coupe back in March - saved a few thousand over the dealer prices.

There is a grey 08 57 plate 2.5i Sport with 7k on the clock, has good spec up for £17895 on Autotrader.

Hi,

I would say that is very toppy, either that or I got an exceptional deal. Without going into too much detail I bought mine from a BMW dealer a 07 plate 2.5 se with 5k on the clock for 14500. I would shop around a bit more.

Parkers list an 07 Si with 20,000 at £17,055 from a franchised dealer.

You don't say what options, etc. I'd say it's at least £1,000 too much
That said think about what options it hasd Xenons, Sat Nav, M seats, auto? heated seats, wheel design. All make it more or less desirable.

BTW grey with red seats is a fantastic combo (same as mine  )

Thank you all for your input.

Got money off the car, so.... I bought it! However, he said it's 407 pounds for a wind deflector, as it's never had one, so brackets will need to be fitted. Can't say I bought one, but I might do later... :D

£407 sounds steep, I know the dealer paid a contribution towards mine (the cost of the bondage type one about £150 IIRC) but I didnt pay anywhere near £250 for sure.

Unless it's a fitted price.
