How much would I be able to get for my Z4MC alloys?

How much would I realistically get for my Z4MC alloys? They have been just refurbed in gloss black so are immaculate. Tyres are all P-Zeros, 5-6mm on the front, 3-4mm on the back.

I bought a mint set a few months back with practically new tyres for £450

(from a forum member who had sold his Z4 and so was getting shot of his spares and parts)

For the price they are going for with new tyres is roughly 50% the price of a new set of tyres. Id keep them and sell them with the car. Or put some winter tyres on them during colder months or use them for track wheels. £450 is nothing almost insulting really.

Mmm, you might be right. If I could get £500 for them it may be worthwhile, but any less than that then yeah, may as well keep them and put winter tyres on and look to sell with the car

Refurbed and black also reduces the potential market.

Really? I thought refurbed meant good condition, unlike those that have now been on the car for 6+yrs with various scratches, lacquer peel, kerbing and brake dust burns?

People like OEM paint unfortunately. A perfect set was up for sale still in the boxes a few weeks back didn't make £500 I don't think.

Refurbed introduces doubt as to what happened to them, kerbed, out of shape, potential of paint flaking when changing a tyre etc.

Original ones don't hide anything, i.e. what you see is what you get.

Bit like whether you like a resprayed car or an original one.

Arrr, I see. Oh well looks like I'll be keeping them on the car until I can afford to buy the M3's outright then keep these as winter wheels :?

If it's of any help, one year ago I paid 900 EUR for a set of Z4M style 224 wheels in perfect condition, with Michelin Cup tires.
The tires were about 70% worn out.

Get some CSLs

Bide your time some will come, its getting into spring/summer and there will be more for sale soon.

Just to demoralise you even further i bought a set about 2 years ago for £300 with tyres. Condition was about 80%.

They're about 50% now after my parking skills

So how come when you're looking at OEM CSL or M3 alloys you're looking at £1500 / £900 ?? Ok so they're an inch bigger but FFS.......

It's simple, they're not the best looking alloys on the go. Compared to the CSLs they're heavy too.

Really? So these 18's are heavier than the 19" CSL?!

Yes, don't have the weights handy but just by lifting the 2 different wheels side by side you could feel a substantial difference.

If they were OEM silver I would probs be interested...

As pvr says - anything non OEM reduced potential market
