How many tyres to buy?

So have a nail in my NSF tyre which is going to need replacing.
Then checked out the other tyres and found that my NSR is dangerously low on tread and will also need replacing.

OSR is well on its way with only 3-4mm of tread and OSF seems in better nick with about 5mm of tread.

So the question at the end of all of that is do I get 2, 3 or 4 new tyres? (am guessing 3 should be the number, but let me know if you think differently!)

Will sadly be the Potenza runflats, but seeing as I'm currently running a slightly sad set of 102s, was planning on keeping these as a winter set (not for use in icy conditions, just nasty weather), and getting myself some nice 108s with non-runflats when the weather improves.

I am swapping mine to non runlets this weekend, you could buy the ones that are coming off if you like? I have a FS thread and will properly measure all the tyres tomorrow

If you're looking long term then I'd suggest a complete set of winters at the moment and a set of new wheels and summers later on. Bit of a hit but you won't need to change them for a few years!

Yep agree with S S , your conundrum goes beyond how many tyres
Why not get in touch with "wilbo" & take these off his hands , http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=74343

then sell your currently set & look to the 18inch ones you really want when funds allow

If those weren't winter tyres, that would again be an awesome idea, but I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to pull together the cash for the "summer" wheels if I get this set and driving fast(ish) around on winter rubber in the summer is a bad idea or so I'm told (car is mainly driven in the summer and only as a weekend toy!).

Aside from the fact that I'll need another to replace the tyre with the nail in to even be able to get to Reading...

Have ordered 2 new tyres from blackcircles at ridiculous expense (decided that the OSR can wait another few months). Why couldn't BMW have just given us a spare tyre or M-style repair kits instead of uncomfortable, noisy, overpriced runflats?!

Grr.
