How many owners have a Private Plate on their Z4?

As per title, i have one on retention and was thinking of using it.

Me poped mine on within a week of picking up my Z and poped on a carbon look surround which finishes it nicely

Dario, very nice! I'm suprised how big the Z4 looks to the 3 series. :o

The Z4 is actually wider than the 3 series. I changed my 3 for a Zed this year, and was slightly disappointed that the zed is simply too wide to be squeezed into the back yard of the block of flats I'm living in. The difference is about 3cm as far as I can recall. :headbang:

Sure we've done this thread before but here we go:

Cheaper than a new car, cleaner and less bulky with just 5 digits, etc.

Mine will have my private plate on it as soon as the retention comes through from the DVLA. Started the process last wednesday when I picked my new car up, can anyone who's done it before suggest how long it takes for the DVLA to send the paperwork through?

I guess it does depend upon if it's a new one, in which case a few days as I've just done it with my daughters Mini. For transfers - weeks unless you are prepared to join the endless queue at a DVLC office and turn in your MOT, Tax disk and other papers.

Frankly on one transfer I made the plates up advised the insurers and put them on instead of waiting as I gambled having the retention certificate would be ample if pulled.

Weeks it will be then, as the plate was on my old car. Guess it'll be new year before I get through. Oh well something to look forward to after Xmas!

I've been racking my brains for weeks now.. I want one, just don't know which one...

The old 111AAA or AAA111 Plates are too much money, but I'm generally not keen on the A1AAA plates because it always reminds me of some of the dreadful cars that year.. price dictates though..

Am thinking about a OO0 plate such as 0006AAA.. just because it's different..

I have X1 TDM.

Always had it spaced and font legally. I think it looks alot better than x*** Tom - which was available for the same price.

I dont care that It doesn't say Tom because it looks far better only being 5 digits and unless you are up close its hard to differenciate a D from an O.

Cost around £800 3 years ago so hope its worth a bit more now and hopefully there is someone with those initials out there looking for a plate :)

I really want the plate LOR 450 (my surname) but its never been issued :( And no doubt would cost a fortune when if it does get sent to auction.

ive been googling since i posted that.. i need to spend about £4500 for my fave.. 3 AAA (which is my initials, not AAA).....

just too much :( the OO06AAA one is only £160 tho...

Nobody has a private plate. They're there on the cars for everyone to see.

Ha Ha - sadly private most often refers to the fact it disguises the year of first registration, therefore in most cases the age of the car.

It does make me wonder what many people blank out their registration on photos when it's on public display all the time they drive? Guess it's some fear of trackback to home or insurance companies??

Yep, I've got one.

I used to have J666 PJS and my mum used to blame EVERY bad event on that plate!
