How long does it take an ///M to warm up.

OK I know there maybe a few factors to consider, but how many miles roughly should it take for all the temperature lights to go out, and I don't mean pottering round at 30mph.

Minds takes about 3.5 to 4 miles ish

mines takes quite a while for all the lights to go out as ive got an extra 1.5litres of oil in the system............
before that it used to warm pretty quickly a a decent 15 mins saw all fluids at a temp i felt decent, i usually dont push the car until a good 25 mins into a journey, overkill but my engine likes it that way.

I don't take much notice of the lights, I try not to go over 3000rpm until oil is around the 75degree mark and would never use the top end (say 5000+) until oil at full operating temp, no matter what state the lights are in.

The lights are for coolant temperature only though Beedub The only indication of oil temperature is the gauge itself.

Same here, used to do the same on me E46 M3 and that seems to be the general procedure on the M3 forums.

Would you say they should be out within 10 miles though. I'm guessing mine is OK as it's always been under warranty, but would rather the dealer fixed before I picked it up if it's not right.
