How long are you planning to keep your M?

Had mine 10 months and still smitten. I normally change for more power but can't see me needing any more so I think it might be a keeper.
Considering spending some money and buying some csl's which'll definitely make it a keeper.

 I hear what you're saying about the power, I'm thinking I'd be quite content with the 3.2, plus you've always got the option or re-mapping or if feeling flush, ESSing the b'jesus out of it. My 130 can go like a greyhound but sometimes can lack pull (probably just used it it) but I did get disheartened to learn that as a facelift model the engine is pretty un-tuneable. Apparently it has complex cam timing and no one (believe me I've searched) offers a supercharger or turbo for it and the best you can get out of a remap is 30bhp from DMS.

You can never get tired of the S54 in the Z4M....

Its a great engine in a great chassis..

If anyone gets within 95% of its capability on a daily basis i will eat my hat......... out of all the cars i have had had its the one i cant drive beyond my talent, and thats really frustrating....

It's night and day with the original MC isn't it? So much easier to drive and lacking the lairyness.

I just wish they had more torque

I don't think these things lack in gear acceleration at all really. 3rd/4th/5th gear in-gear acceleration times in particular, are very strong, especially so for a NA engine.

But can be made a lot stronger. :P

Oh yeah 3rd and 4th in gear is fine, in fact it's great

I mean 5th/6th gear...
And yes I know an n/a engine won't deliver the same tq punch as f/I but you can never have too much

Any excuse to rev the hell out the car is good tho

I've had mine nearly five years and I don't think it'll go anywhere for some time. I change the daily around every few years but the M still thrills me every time I get in it.

No plans to get rid of it. It's a long term project to enjoy. Would have to be very, very broke to sell it.

It's nice to have an asset where I can sell at any point that will release over £10k in funds.
I never really think too much about changing it just happens. It took a while to find this car and its a perfect spec and should be desirable to sell on when that time comes. It is not a 'keeper' I am waiting for Evoras to be priced below £30k at that point we will see how much I still want to be driving the Z.

Let me know when you want to sell yours - like you say, it's the perfect spec! And just down the road :)

Sure  I may well come to the Kent meet so you can have a look over it there. It has extended leather like yours.
