Basically it's saying in each case, if a part is in unknown state it defaults to on of it can. Ie pretendioners will fire even if the seatbelt on switch isn't visible or working, occupied is assumed even if sensor not right etc. Assumed worst case even if g sensor isn't working right so small dink might equal full activation.
Of course, if your light is on for a bad earth during tinkering, it'll work fine, if the light is on for occupancy sensor, severity related stuff will work fine. It's just the bit that is wrong that will failsafe.
Still ideal to get it reset/checked of course, but in my case I'm pretty sure it was earth issue due to loom plug or damp tinkering!
