I am thinking of upgrading from the standard 17s upto a set of 19s, either 313 or 326m wheels.

I was speaking to SWMBO last night and she asked..why do you need them what makes them better

I explained that they make the car look nicer, but that didnt really work.. need help guys!!

You want the standard 17s for winter tyres - very sensible for lots of reasons in a RWD sports car, and winter tyres will possibly be cheap this time of year. Therefore you need new summer wheels to replace them. You need to do some research on winter tyres to convince her though... If that doesn't work I think you're fecked - very incisive questions from you SWMBO that will take some getting around...

Shes going on a works day out/someones leaving do on Saturday, anyway I can get a set of wheels ordered, tyres fitted and on the car on Saturday before I pick her up from the station, after a few drinks she wont notice

Okay, so I want to know EXACTLY how that goes on Saturday as you are a braver man than me

haha, i love guys having to justify purchases to the other half when they can just go ahead and buy a new pair of shoes whenever they like

Pair of shoes versus a set of wheels - man logic!

But, back to the subject, bribe her with new shoes

I'm in the same boat, want to change my 18" 294 to 19's

A couple months back there was a full set of 326m alloys with good tyres on ebay for £1,200 ish i think which a best offer option as well....REALLY wish i had a go at getting them now as i realize thats a really really good price :(

 be a man and go for it.

I ordered the Z4 and then told SWMBO (sometimes) and that was after having our E91 for only 6 months

Raises a smile here to, trained my girle to be more acommodating or just give a good spanking if unreasonable.

Go get your new boots... you know you need them

hehe sorry meant to say the 10 pairs of shoes in a month compared to a guy changing wheels say once a year :P

those designer shoes dont come cheap..... even in the sales with 90% off :D

This is simple.

1. Open a can of Stella Artois.

2. Drink it.

3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 a few times.

4. TELL her you are getting new wheels, and make sure she see's the empty Stella cans. Shouldn't be any more problems.

Obviously, this is just a joke. I dont condone such behaviour.

I think the best option is as you've said, get it sorted whilst she's out.

Just tell your good lady wife that the new wheels will make reverse parking much easier for her :)

:withstupid:

THIS is a good idea. Especially if they are new shoes for her night out on Saturday

If you do go with these would love to know your thought's when there fitted on your Z.

Im mighty tempted as there such a massive saving over OEM. Everywhere ive read who run's these alloys the reports are all good just not came across anyone who's put them on an E89 Z4

How about 313's for £470 - they're replicas though. I was tempted but think I'll stick with 18" due to the roads around my way!

I wanted to keep OEM, for the quality, then I remember how crap the 296 wheels etc are, may as well go with third party lol
 good point re OEM quality.

I've been debating them for my e90 but I really can't stomach 19" tyre prices compared to 18", plus my local roads are ruined and I'd rather not risk it. But then I saw an e92 in Tesco the other night with them and they look soooo good. I reckon they'll suit an e89 well.
