How bright is the Z4 yellow?

I know some won't, but i really like yellow cars!

But the only picture I've seen of a Z4 looks a bit dull / faded. But that might be a bad picture? What's it like in real life?

Pic I've seen:

The sort of yellow I like!...

(I also really like 106 GTi's!).

The top is Phoenix yellow or gold , a marmite shade but for many including myself a stunning colour in the real if kept well & combined with black

The other colour above is more the newer shaped E89 Atacama yellow which again is marmite & this time really not for me

Phoenix is absolutely stunning in the metal.

Ford did the outgoing Fiesta in a similar yellow. It's known as baby s**t yellow but I quite like that

Might have to go and see the Phoenix one in the flesh then (on a bright sunny day).

Just searched and seen it described as vomit yellow!! :-o

There is one for sale over here...saw it recently. It's certainly striking :o

I was working for Halliwell Jones Warrington at the time Phoenix Yellow was introduced back in the late 90s. If my memory is correct it was initially only available on the E46 M3 and as an extra cost 'Individual' option on other models. Generally it was not well received or liked by many customers or employees, myself included. It was commonly known as 'Snot Green' or 'P*ss Yellow' amongst the sales staff  . The trouble with it for me is that it is neither quite one colour or the other, green or yellow. Also, unless the sun is directly on it then it has this quite 'murky' muted sheen to it.
It's a pity the old E36 Dakar Yellow was not carried over and made available on the Z4 as this was much more perky, bright and...err...yellow !

Another Dakar Yellow Z3
It's a shame it was not a Z4 color as I like yellow but it must be in the right shade. My front door is actually yellow.

PY - I like a lot but its mustard not yellow.

Atacama - I don't like it's orange not yellow.

Dakar - is the best shade, a proper yellow

Very much a Marmite thing. You love or hate yellow. Also depends on car model I think. Porsche or Ferrari can get away with it I think (just about). I think the Z4 looks too muscular for it personally.

My first company car was the "flying banana" in the late 80's - Vauxhall Astra GTE. That was a bright yellow, IIRC it was a special request colour. Loved it.

Also, agree Phoenix Yellow looks stunning in the flesh, especially with the black accents/wheels

Phoenix Yellow is extremely light-subjective - it brightens and darkens loads depending on the weath conditions and, of course, the level of clean/shine of the paint. I really like the colour; it was one of the launch colours for the E46 M3 back in about 2001 - loved it from the start. I'm not 100% sure I would actually buy one though - not convinced I am brave enough and I think I'd want to garage it at the least for fear of blinding the neighbours...
Seems to look better in the E86 version than E85
