Hose pipe ban, smose pipe ban - pic heavy

only for one of my neighbours to start washing his crapy little punto with his hosepipe :(

I hope you went and offered him your watering can ? :D

Great idea by the way - can't believe I didn't think if that :headbang:

Rant agreed with

Looks like you can hide your car round the back of the house though, I have to do it on the drive :(

Don't have a water meter myself, otherwise I'd pay extra if required... But I doubt I'd use too much. I think I used about 10 buckets of water, roughly 80 litres, and there seemed to be more water on the road than normal. It's sprinklers olawns and flowers that use a lot... And I do as little gardening as possible

Yeah - same for me. I do not use a lot of water. All the serenta flowers I have do not require a lot of water and the rest goes off for lawns and co - I am not washing my car myself. That's what a car wash service is for.

i see everyone's said the same but i am perplexed by the hosepipe ban. in substitute for the hosepipe, i have procured and cleaned out the watering can that was knocking around the garden, so i stick the hosepipe, still connected to the tap, in the watering can, and leave the tap on, i then use the watering can to rinse pre, during and post shampoo. i'd say i use twice as much water, and it's still coming out of the same hosepipe.

i'd happily defy the ban, but unfortunately i live next door to 2 police workers, the male police worker used to have a porsche boxster, it was the most unused and dustiest boxster i'd (n)ever seen in my life, and after living there for nearly 2 years i find out the female police worker has made him trade it in (as she "doesn't like cars") for a fiat 500. I suspect that any reporting of me would result in a prosecution..irritating nevertheless as last year they'd often have 2 hosepipes on the go at once as they watered in another delivery of shrubs and bedding plants.

and it's rained for the last 3 weeks!!

edited to add...i had to stand at my gate for 15 mins as the male police worker justified his new cream runabout on the basis it was far cheaper than the boxster cos the tax was free....errr, right, so your 6 year old porsche that you directly swapped for a little hatchback would depreciate at the same rate over the next 3 years...well it might i suppose :)
