Hose pipe ban, smose pipe ban - pic heavy

Decided to make use of my Halfords BOGOF bargains today. And shows commitment no? ;) I was fully aware that it was going to pee down this afternoon so this was just a case of getting a good base down (and it did about 10mins after these photos)

Right, already Clayed it last month so skipped that step:

* Foam (Megs Gold Class shampoo)
* Rinse
* Wash (two bucket method using Megs Gold Class shampoo)
* Megs paint cleaner (fantastic stuff!)
* Megs Polish
* Megs Gold Class Carnuba (smells luch! :) )

Then Poorboys wheel guard, Autoglym bumper care on the rubbers, Autosol on the exhaust tips and finally a quick whip around with Megs Interior Detailer.

So pics for your perusal :roll:

And a last one that includes my little helpers :wink:

Cheers guys. And really need to learn how to take decent pictures as they never seem to do it justice! (or get a camera first of all instead of using my phone)

And yeah the dogs are cool, both puppies so a lot of fun. The bigger one is a English Bulldog with 25% pug in him - I'm not even sure how that was possible but the end result is good :)

I'm no expert, but I think Clay tends to get all the foreign objects off your car, making it very smooth, glass like. Paint cleaner is supposed to get rid of any blemishes in the paint, help with swirl marks etc

So, I think you'd Clay first, then do the paint cleaner in addition? According to Megs its the first step in their 3 step process (followed by polish then wax)

Ooooo - shiny and slippery, excellent :thumbsup:

At some point soon I will burst my clay cherry I think...

I washed mine this morning without a hosepipe and it totally sucked. Took ages, and using buckets just doesn't get all the soap off. I am very jealous :cry:

We've got a hose pipe ban here. :thumbsdown: But I washed mine with the hosepipe with a good conscience. Without a doubt by just sprinkling the water over my car to get the suds off, using the hose used a damn sight less water than chucking endless buckets of water over it. The hose has a trigger attachment so it doesn't run constantly, just on and off when I need it.

Honestly, I reckon I'd let them take me to court on this. Take videos, show proof that using my hose the way I do uses less water than chucking whole buckets of water over it, so I did it for the environment.

What I don't get is how they can explain that this rediculous ban on hosepipes is an effective way to get everyone to be careful with their water usage. Hosepipe use is such a small proportion on our water usage. To really make a difference we need everyone to use water sparingly across the board. Why not monitor their water usage? Most people have water meters don't they? Why not just charge extra once you have used more than your fair share? That would have a much better impact on the amount of water people use.

sorry, rant over

Rant agreed with :thumbsup:

Looks like Ou can hide your car round the back of the house though, I have to do it on the drive :(

Don't have a water meter myself, otherwise I'd pay extra if required... But I doubt I'd use too much. I think I used about 10 buckets of water, roughly 80 litres, and there seemed to be more water on the road than normal. It's sprinklers olawns and flowers that use a lot... And I do as little gardening as possible :roll:

Yeah that is true, I come across all brace a rebellous. But yeah I can park my car in the back garden to clean it. Not sure I'd be as brave if it was on the drive. That wouldn't be down to getting caught, more about having my neighbours looking down their noses at me :roll:

Looks great love the wheels

I washed mine at the weekend with my new watering can :D which wasn't much fun only for one of my neighbours to start washing his crapy little punto with his hosepipe :(
