Not trying to teach anyone how to suck eggs but this info may be of use to someone.
The horn on my new (to me) Zed sounded like something from a Sinclair C5, so after some forum searching I discovered that there are two horns, one high tone, one low tone. These are situated behind a panel at the front of each wheel arch and can be accessed without the need of removing the wheel. The low tone horn is on the near side and the high tone is on the drivers side..
Anyway on to my point! Here's the offending article -

The horn is manufactured by FIAMM, who also supply them to other car manufacturers. The only difference (as far as I can tell) is that the connectors are different. It turns out that the connector actually unclips from the body of the horn, allowing you to connect your original Z4 connector to it and hey presto Bob's your Uncle and Fanny's your Aunt! I grabbed one from a scrapped Ford Focus and the Zed is now more Pavarotti than Aled Jones!!
Hope this saves someone a few quid.
