Horn replacement

Hi all,

My horns stopped working, jumped on here as one does and discovered it's another common fault! Anyway got some on ebay, and found out how to get them off on here. Problem I've got to is the electronic connections don't seem to match. Have I bought mis-matches? It's like a plug on the old left one, whereas the new one has holes wider apart. Car is 2007 2.5SIi Sport. TIA

Hi,

yes you've got a mismatch..

just crimp on new Spade terminals onto the wires, It will be non OEM though or you could break the connector off the old horn and plug it in then wire from that, that way you can keep the original Plug !

Or just get the correct one !

Thanks fixit man,

I've managed to 'prise off' the plug thingy from the old one, as below. Now it's a question of getting wires to the holes somehow?

Perfect, looks like a Male bullet connection might work in that.... 2 wires, 2 spade terminal and 2 male bullet connectors done ! or if you can solder..there are some options

I don't have any of that gear never mind soldering! I've a colleague who is qualified electrician so I'll bring it in to work with me tomorrow. Thanks for advice, helpful and time saving :)

you're welcome

Did you know there are two horns? One on each side. You can of course get by with one. You probably had been but didn't know it until the second one failed.
