Hood slow to raise

Hi Folks
I have an 06 plate E85 2.5Si - the roof has developed a habit of being slow to raise up. It goes down fine, and locks in place fine when it gets back up to the top of the windscreen. It appears to be draining ok (now kept in garage). Can anybody recommend somebody near Tunbridge Wells in Kent that may be able to repair it?

I found one place, that want a diagnostic fee first but say I could be looking at around £1k if the pump needs replacing - if its up at this level of cost I my just put up with the fact its slow and occasionally needs a helping hand...

Any insight on what others think may be wrong with it based on the above symptoms and recommendations on somebody who could repair it very gratefully received

Probably just wants reviving and relocation, think Bowser is nearest to you, worth the drive out as he will save you a substantial amount on what you've been quoted, RBM in Hook I believe is his indi garage. Not sure exactly what he charges but maybe around 300ish for the job
