HOOD height adjustment

Has anyone had to adjust the height of your hood? I've noticed on the drivers side, the hood is sitting a tad lower than the edge of the fender. I'd say about 1/8"-1/4". I see the adjustment bolt on the hinge, and the black plastic adjuster by the hood latch. The one by the latch looks to be threaded, but it seems like no matter how many times you turn it, it doesnt change height. There's got to be a trade secret how that thing works. On the hinge, theres an acorn shaped bolt for adjusting. There's also the same setup on the trunk hinges. I noticed on the adjuster on the trunk hinge also has a black cap on the top. The hood hinge does not. I was wondering if anyone has noticed if their adjuster bolt on the hood hinge has a black cap on it like the one on the trunk hinge? Maybe mine has come off?

Anyway, any expertise would be appreciated. :)

I have the same problem and have not had the chance to have it corrected, I remember a post about the guy taing the Z to the dealer for the same problem as yours and the dealer would not fix it saying it was normal and he said there was no other Z to compare it to so he went somewhere else. The post ended with someting like "I turnd out to be a simple washer after all" so see if there is any washers or similar devices.

The black plastic "adjusters" either side of the radiator look threaded but are not. At their base there is a plastic
nut. Loosen with a spanner, pull up "adjuster" to desired height and retighten nut.

One of my front adjusters wouldn't stay at the proper height. The hood/bonnet closing on it would push it down. Since it was broken anyway, I just glued it at the right height. I figured that the worst that would happen was that I'd have to buy a new one, and I was faced with that anyway. It's been good for two years now.

When I got the car, I went over it and adjusted the fenders, trunk/boot lid, hood/bonnet to get all of the gaps and heights correct. I'm surprised that the factory shipped it that way and the original dealership didn't correct these things before the car was sold to the original owner. My only issue now is that while the hood/bonnet is at the right height at the front and the back, the middle is a bit low as it arcs over the wheels. There are some rubber or plastic supports at that point, but they're not quite high enough. I'm tempted to add some shims to bring it up in the middle, but haven't found just the right material yet.

Did I get all of the regional nomenclature correct for both sides of the Atlantic? :?

Thanks for the tip. I recently noticed the plastic nut you mentioned. I also noticed there are 2 little arrows showing that they need to align with each other when in the "locked" position. I'll give that a try.
Do the metal (acorn like adjuster screws) at the hinges have a black cap on them like the ones on the truck hinges?

I know what you mean about the hood being a little low in the middle. One night I was trying to get the hood aligned and for some reason I had a rag in my hand. When I closed the hood I looked at the height and it was PERFECT! I was so happy that I got it right. Unfortunetely, when I opened the hood I discovered I accidently left the rag sitting on top of the shock tower. When I removed it I closed the hood and found out I was just back where I started.
