Good luck with the sale. 2004 and 2005 cars are the best in my option, revised styling and suspension, but not the £490 a year road tax > 2006 cars have.

I still miss mine after replacing it with the Z4M a few months ago... much more fun on a back road.

2004-2005 are in fact the worst cars. They are soft spring and setup for less risky driving.

The best model is the last model 2009 with wishbones and anti till bars from the 1999 model which were very heavy, suspension settings from the 2002/3 version and VSA as standard.

Yes 2009 is a very good car, but the s2000 needs aftermarket suspension to handle well and I couldn't pay £500 a year on tax for a 2.0. Late 2008 and 2009 cars also suffer from engine failures so definitely avoided.

Lots of problems with the traction control units and the quality of leather from 2006 or 07 is poor.

Loved the s2k as a kid

When I was 18 I saw that yellow one with the black carbon bonnet and I jizzed my pants

Now I can actually buy one I'm thinking it's too boy racer, but I'd love to have a go just to rev it to 9000 rpm

I have owned every version.

The 2009 yes is prone to engine failure, there is a specific batch of engines, i have it written somewhere.

The leather and paint on all the models is very bad (flimsy, thin etc....).

VSA failures were between 2006(when it was optional) and 2007 when it became standard (there was a change of alloys as well) and then they changed supplier or module i cant recall.

Re tax i agree with you.

However if you have a Z4M then you have a much nicer more accomplished better sounding excellent car.
