Homecoming 2008 - - aftermath

20ducks

Take away all the car stuff like the plant, vendors, production associates even the host hotel and you will then just start to understand what a Homecoming is about. It is about us humans getting together and having fun. This one had all the ingredients of greatness and for 20ducks (aka Greg), he wasn't disappointed. Of all 4 Homecomings that I have attended and participated in this one had the most special moments. This was a convergence of mind boggling distances. It is testimony to the passion and enthusiasm of many of us Z4-forum members. There are no geographical boundaries, no age limits, no gender based owners in this event. It was outstanding fun.

I reconnected with some old friends and connected with many new ones, for that I extend to my friends my sincerest thank you. I will cherish the time spent with all of you always.

I am proud and privileged to be acquainted with all that attended and to be a member of this forum.

Cheers,
Greg

What can we say? What a wonderful week it's been. The whole HC experience was an awesome time for me as well. We had a blast! Very bittersweet though, knowing so many relationships have been built around the many HC trips we've been on, and now HC is no more.

Who knows what will take its place? It's interesting that Kenn did some speculation on future events, so maybe they really do intend to stay connected to the owners in some way. I hope so.

Thanks to all of you Z4-forum wharf-rats for a good time Friday night too

Are you trying to say we were tipping a few

Yup...some more than others...hehe.

I'm gonna leave this hotel and hit the road...going home with 400 miles to go! Later dudes.

Looking forward to see more photos........ not of the scary owners though.....lol

Glad it went well lads.

Group shots without the newbies, who was in charge of the memos? hummmm? :P

That hot sun got to a couple of us (those seatbelts just know where my sunburn is, ouch!)
Had to drive in to work this morning just to get online-my DSL is as wonky as the wifi in the hotels right now. Y'all have kind thoughts for a while-I have to find someone at AT&T who won't pass me back and forth from phone to internet-the whole DSL is out right now. <sigh>

I agree with DUcks it seems every Homecoming was better and more fun (& more expensive) than the one before. We also had a great time catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.

I think Sunday we must have spent an hour just saying bye to everyone after lunch, as Bob, Robin Joanna and the rest can attest to.

Well put Greg....
An absolutely fantastic event;
But it's the people that made it truly outstanding.
I had a terrific time & thoroughly enjoyed meeting y'all.

Got back to Florida after a 6 hour drive which was pretty short compared to the rest of you. As Ducks said, meeting all of you made this Homecoming even more special to me. I was able to put a face and personality with each of you and I learned a little about each of your familys, jobs, and areas you came from. Thank you for this. Lisa and I now get ready to begin a new journey in our lives as we are expecting twin girls (identicals). To all, thanks for the memories and the friendships we take into the future. Time Of Your Life

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

Hey...if I say I remember that...then I must not have had a good enough time that night... :D
Wow...is that a GPS unit in my pocket or was I just happy to be wearing more hair than usual??? :o
I must say though, it looks like Caddyshk is enjoying the view. :poke:
